Ruby Bridges was 6-years-old when she stepped into the history books. Bravely accompanied by her mother, she was the first Black child to desegregate an all-white school in the South. It was not long ago… Today is her birthday. She is still with us. She is 72. Happy birthday, Ruby Bridges 💜

Sixty years ago today, the starship Enterprise launched and with it, a vision of the future where humanity had moved beyond its divisions. I was there at the beginning, and I can tell you...

I'm still thinking about Star Trek (because #StarTrekDay) & how I grew up in a golden era of Trek media. Not just the 90s shows, but all the expanded media too. I loved Trek books when I was a kid - here are some of my favorites. Most no longer canonical, but that's never mattered much to me.

Trump told 9/11 families that he was rescued from the rubble of the World Trade Center -- an obvious and shocking lie. Here's how the New York Times reports it. This is like reporting George Wallace's "segregation forever" speech as "Governor speaks at inauguration. Some remarks controversial."

President Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously to a volunter firefighter who saved numerous people. He also added to a disputed account of his actions that day.
