Don’t you just think that the music coming out of Gotham would be so baller? The bands forged in the city of Batman would be unreeeeal I think about this a lot

I miss TV shows with 20+ episodes. I miss filler episodes. I miss side stories that mean nothing, and other ones that turn out to be the most brilliant storytelling you've ever seen. Perhaps I am old, but so much made now just tires me.

Dolly Parton, among a thousand other amazing things she did in her life, gifted over 330 million books to kids through her Imagination Library program. Her passing is a tremendous loss to the world, but you can support the program today to keep it going imaginationlibrary.com

I feel like every article I’ve read on the special editions craze kind of misses the mark, they all seem to have an amount of supposition but like, these girlies are out there trust me I’m friends with them and they love to talk about it

Substack is 100% doing another round of big cash payouts for reputation laundering. A fair number of people accepting that money aren't hurting for it so I'm not clear on why they're doing it. BTW, if you're still on Substack, why, but also, here's a resource to get off: leavesubstack.com

I wrote about Naomi Klein joining Substack and why writers of conscience shouldn't launch new media ventures on platforms that court white supremacy for clicks.

I fear I am reaping what I’ve sown and am a little burnt out from reading, which I didn’t predict and no one warned me about and no one has been asking about every single time they see me at work

I can find a million lists of anticipated sff releases for the first half of the year but literally none for the second half tell me what’s coming I’m begging I want to know

I went into green city wars with kind mixed feelings (loved the concept but my last Tchaikovsky was shroud and I didn’t enjoy it) and I really liked it! Not super cowabunga but it’s a thinker for me for sure. I’m not immune to being shown a little guy and being asked what personhood really is

I’ve had to pause my Hugo’s reading for ARC reading (green city wars & moss’d in space) and I feel sooooo chill and normal and at all weird or deranged

I love that random men get accused of performative reading for no reason when I’ve been doing it for years and no ones ever said shit if you see me reading in public know I feel unbelievably smug

Singaporean artist Leia Ham reimagined LotR as Tale of the Middle Kingdom, since Chinese name for China (Zhōngguó) means "The Middle Kingdom." Her concept art includes the Fellowship, armors, buildings like Bag End, props like Aragorn's banner and Fellowship brooches, and more. #TolkienTrewsday
