Random online gaming pick-ups! - Firebugs for PS1, CIB - DualShock 2 controller; seems to have a bad button membrane flex board thingy, sticks are fine but few buttons work; ordered replacement membrane - Unbranded Saturn-style USB controller; had factory bodge wire come loose, now fully fixed

Photo of DualShock 2 controller held together with rubber band (screws removed awaiting repair; bad button flex membrane thing sitting next to it), an unbranded Sega Saturn-like USB controller, and a copy of Firebugs for PS1, sitting on a table

So it turns out that Ryota Kawade, director of the first three Paper Mario games, directed Dragon Hopper. Not only was this the first game that he directed but also the ONLY game he directed outside of the Paper Mario series.

I've been playing it a little more and... This actually kinda gives me Paper Mario vibes. Considering this was developed by Intelligent Systems and was scrapped one year before PM64 started development, I wouldn't be surprised if some of this game's ideas were carried over.

I am very proud to announce that our English translation patch of London Spirit Detectives is now done and released on GitHub. Thanks to aishsha, bigbanana23, Cash Ogawa, Pennywise, Ryusui, TheMajinZenki and vervalkon What a wonderful project! See reply for details.

EA's annual Ebitda is around $1.5 billion, which should be enough to service the interest payments. But the publisher has told debt investors that it will cut $700 million in annual costs including $170 million in "organizational efficiencies," per Bloomberg. In other words: mass layoffs

EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest

Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.
