In polling and policy, anger against data centers and anxieties about AI are usually treated as separate topics: "one an expression of environmental & civic worries, the other concerns about job loss & chatbots. But there's growing evidence that it's not so clear-cut." www.wired.com/story/how-da...

How Data Centers Broke American Politics

Even in using AI, you need some expertise in your field to know what's going on. The way they're using AI now doesn't advocate for learning from it, just using it. And its uses are going to be limited when a Google search is prolly just as good.

Perpetually linking ICE activity to mid 20th century Nazism misses over a hundred years of US immigration law based on racial exclusion AND the very real policies of US empire both domestic and abroad. The US held Haitian asylum seekers in detention camps in Cuba for years as recently as the 90s.

Author/historian on fascist economies: "they supported private property and the profit motive because they considered them beneficial to the economic development of a nation, and because they held social Darwinist beliefs that the success of the wealthy proved their superiority."

Seven skincare habits I would unlearn if I had to go back to skincare school. First: believing that a routine needs to be long to be effective. A basic routine is cleanse, treat, hydrate, moisturize. Sunscreen is the final morning step.
