There have never been "dozens of failed impeachments" So you have no idea if there are downsides to them or not. If you were a criminal, would you want all the evidence of all your wrongdoing aired on live TV in a high profile Senate trials?

Does anyone tthink the smartest reporters in DC don't know Trump is building a dictatorship? Of course they know. The question is why they won't tell the public loudly and clearly.

your sample size is tiny, and those two examples were many years ago. there were very specific circumstances each time. and nobody was really even trying to get a conviction

With Orban going down and MAGA appearing to be collapsing in on itself, things were looking up for democracy. AfD winning in Saxony-Anhalt was a setback, but it’s just one German state. Brazil heading for a Bolsonaro restoration really stings. Shows that this global struggle will go for a while.

It's not a genocide in Gaza. It was a demolition. Those who died were collateral damage and were in between the IDF and Hamas. Israel is tired of rockets coming out of Gaza for the last 30 years. When Hamas killed 1200 mostly young Jews, they lit the fuse for the demolition of "The Strip".

The *vast majority* of arguments against impeachment boil down to "Impeachment is hard. They should just give up." If there was some other way to stop the fascists, if there were really more important things that they could actually accomplish, if they really were short of time... 1/2

AND.... all of them, Rs, Ds, Is, they ALL have the same duty to defend the Constitution and impeach all the frickin cartoon villains who egregiously break the law every fracking day. Let them hear your demands. #ImpeachConvictRemove

The Dems need to viciously attack every power and money center for the conservative movement. Eliminate car dealership monopolies, enact wealth taxes on billionaires, eliminate citizens United, crack down on crypto, and bring silicon Valley to heel.

There are people who believe both that Republicans are all fascists, & that in the current environment enough Republican Senators can be convinced on the merits of the case to vote to remove Trump from office. These people may be good citizens & virtuous people but they’re not serious thinkers

It's straight up appeasement. It's "Don't do anything that might upset the abuser, and we have a chance of getting a tin of beans for lunch." In practice it's letting him murder, pillage, and shred the Constitution with zero consequences.

How is this statement even controversial? How on earth is anyone in our country even discussing "a third" impeachment? Every crime demands impeachment. Follow the Constitution. No more stupid excuses.
