A photograph of Yaffa, who poses with their hands hanging on a branch under a tree with orange leaves. They wear a keffiyeh wrapped around their head, with watermelon slice-shaped earrings, a black thobe with colorful traditional embroideries adorning the hems, chest panel, and waistline.A cover of Blood Orange by Yaffa. It has an illustration of Al-Aqsa mosque under a giant orange that resembles the sun. Underneath Al-Aqsa is an image of orange dripping.A cover of Desecrated Poppies by Yaffa. A photo of twenty Rainbow Crate books in four rows of five books each. Overlaid is a green-yellow gradient circle. Text on it says “25 underrated queer books to read for pride month”. “Pride Month” is in rainbow striped font while all other text is in white font with a black outline.

Hello #BookSky It's time for a big old thread of recommendations for Pride! (Sorry it's a little late in the month, we launched a book review!) Before we get to the books go follow @authorsabb.bsky.social Bans are devastating queer books right now & AABB is a great resource to help you fight back

Queer Books and Authors are at a Breaking Point

Authors, agents, publishers: every part of the industry is seeing the strain of five years of escalating anti-LGBTQ censorship.

Intersectional Trans+ Rep Outside Your Own Experience: Deciding between desecrated poppies by Yaffa As or Song of the Dryads by Bailey Saxon (I'm still hoping to finish Black Trans Feminism by Marquis Bey until then, otherwise I might count that one). (4/6).

I love it when artists who are supposedly left-wing talk about how their art is going to suffer due to boycotts and so we shouldn’t have boycotts. Gurl we can talk about individual impact, we can set up alternative care systems, but you are not liberatory if your only concern is yourself.

My entire life the systematic murder and erasure of trans people has been a daily norm that just runs in the background of American life and has been perpetuated by every major institution and publication and when you talk to or about trans folks you need to take into account that context

Following Al-Jazeera's coverage has been very interesting. Like this is the headline of IT (alongside 4 other GCC countries - and Jordan) getting attacked by Iran. The FM condemned the attack, but also we had it coming.

Image from AJ english website. Pic of gulf port with plume of smoke rising from it. text reads: Multiple Arab states that host US assets targeted in iran retaliation.
