In every thread about Platner there were people declaring, "redemption arc!" I'm somewhat of a connaisseur, so I kept asking, "Yes, yes, redemption arc, but where is it, exactly?" That's where conversations started to end.

The "can't people change" crowd never really addressed why he wasn't acting like someone who was ashamed of his actions, and instead was trying to imply that everyone else needed to be ashamed for asking the question.

The same is true of Thomas Massie & any 2 retiring GOP Reps in the House. It is a choice to continue caucusing with the authoritarian personality cult.
Out of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.
