One of the reasons I was thinking of it lately is because it's the opposite of so much environmental policy: it puts the burden on the business, not the individual. The plastic bag levy and Re-turn give businesses no incentive to use better packaging.

Cycling advocates have really gotta start playing on the same team as transit advocates. Especially in cities like Indianapolis, where much more people are using transit than biking. Bad faith arguments and whataboutism do nothing to advance either cause.

Better cycling cities are not just "more bike-friendly." They are also more equitable in access to cycling between genders. This means that infrastructure, safety, and policy improvements tend to benefit women more by removing barriers that affect them disproportionately.

Weeks of drought. The grass is gasping for water and so is saving its resources and not growing. But heck, contractors have got a job to do, even if the only result is slashing and crushing the last remains of life. Good job all. 👍

The news this morning.. “Copernicus tells of the hottest and driest European summer on record.” “One million people evacuated ahead of Typhoon hitting China”. “Dublin airport hits sixteenth consecutive month of growth of passenger numbers.” Just don’t look up. #climatecrisis

I have questions - How did the court case for getting the car back get seen by a Judge before the court case about the Dangerous Driving? Are they still driving unaccompanied? Etc. Etc. The entitlement of motorists yet again on full display. www.laois-nationalist.ie/news/mum-get...
