The ruling class is striving to take everything from us – including our future. The material of life that sustains us all is not only being concentrated in the hands of a few ultrawealthy people; it is also being destroyed.

A bolder antiwar movement is desperately needed at this moment to prevent the US-Israeli war in the Middle East from escalating further. We need to build something more enduring, localized, and concrete to bring the genocidal attacks on Lebanon and Iran to a halt.
There are so many fronts on which organizers are tirelessly working and where activists are constantly mobilizing. While multitasking between antiwar protests and rapid response, to divestment campaigns and survivor advocacy, it can feel like there is not enough time to even breathe.
Thousands of people have taken to streets to protest the killing of Renee Nicole Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis. The latest newsletter from YES! asks: How do we organize not only to resist this injustice, but also to sustain the work over the long haul?
The US may be on a path toward war, but it’s crucial to remember that what we do next matters – the worst is only guaranteed if we do nothing. When we connect through solidarity, we make a world without war a possibility.

Another progressive media outlet is closing its doors. :( I am grateful for the 5.5 years of solutions stories I got to publish at @yesmedia.bsky.social. I'm a talented editor, skilled and collaborative journalist, and I have great story sense. Please feel free to send leads or make intros!

Oh noooo, this is awful news! 💔 YES! Media's stories are exactly the kind we need more than ever right now. It's just so painful that the very unjust systems they're working to dismantle have made it impossible for them to keep operating.

I published this piece for @theflytrapmedia.com in January. It is now May and YES! is sunsetting. I will soon share more about the amazing team running this publication and how we can support them in their next chapters. But for now, I am in deep grief. Indie media simply deserves better.
By the way, I now run YES! Media, an indie movement publication focused on radical solutions and—surprise, surprise—it, too, is often struggling to survive. If you can support legacy publications that spew transphobia, then please consider donating to indie publications.
There’s so much to say and too little room, so I’ll let my LinkedIn post speak for itself. Thank you to @freeblackgirl.bsky.social for opening the door for journalists like me and making way for solutions-accountability journalism. I am forever grateful.
