I am back from my semi hiatus from social media as work gets busier than normal. The #libdem conference in Brighton was a first for me in that location. First time too, that @cesea-libdems.bsky.social had a stand. Thank you for dropping by!!!

My humble opinions are my own. Lib Dems produced the 🔶️1st HKBNO Cllr in UK 🔶️Surrey Heath Borough Cllr 🔶️Bisley Parish Cllr, 🔶️Chair - CESEA Lib Dems Fluent in English, Cantonese & Mandarin 🥋Karate 2nd dan black belt
Looks like it's cross political parties about not supporting RefUK In Clacton's by election in August. Talk about solidarity.
Why do schools in UK now have prom? Just keeps us parents busier than necessary.
Well, in the end, Hong Kong became a world city until the naughties. Now, it's just a nightmare after the handover/betrayal by Thatcher and her cronies.
i get thet everyone hates us for the whole empire thing and that's not changing in my lifetime, but it is at least at least a bit annoying when the other team is from a part of the world that spent a couple of hundred years invading us isn't it
The Lib Dems are calling for the government to go further on protection for everyone online, with a standardised labelling system for AI-generated images and videos on social media. news.sky.com/story/politi...

I shared my feelings when the Tiananmen protests happened. I was the same age as many of them. I felt the passion, the bravery, the glimmer of hope for a possibility of democracy at its conception. The fear that came when the tanks arrived...
It’s a very dangerous thing for one human being to consider we are superior to another human being Dangerous because it blinds us to who we truly are We differ superficially but fundamentally each reflects every other human being Except some choose the light some prefer dark some do not choose

I'm digging out past history. A year ago or so, Surrey County Council cancelled elections. In my speech, I said that all the world over, especially in Asia, where I'm from - people have fought, blood, sweat & tears to be given the right/freedom to vote. How fake/pseudo democracy existed.
This is a problem for a 6-year leader of a party with over 70 MPs
Proud of my Lib Dem colleagues leading #WestSurreyCouncil for working to ensure real localism in the new West Surrey Council area - something I have challenged the Labour Government on again and again, and they have refused to do. www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-...
West Surrey promises 'most comprehensive localism agenda UK has ever seen'

These coalitions are so complicated....
Another Green-led council in London on its way after the party struck a coalition deal with Lib Dems in Southwark. Assume this means James McAsh, who was elected Labour leader of the council last summer, then deposed in factional row, then defected, and is now Green leader, is council boss.
I remember a Tory confidently telling me "In a decade, everyone will say they voted Leave even if they didn't".
There are now more Tory supporters who *say* they voted Remain than Leave. In the BES, which has EU vote information from previous waves rather than recalled vote, the split is 50-35 for Leave (vote intention is 2025 though). If anything, false recall is even more damning for the Brexit project.
If a political party leader has had his communications compromised by a foreign adversary, it poses an alarming threat to our entire democracy. @LibDemDaisy.bsky.social has written to the National Cyber Security Centre to investigate Nigel Farage’s claims his phone was accessed by Russian hackers
Very quick by-elections, within a month!!

A President ordering the Justice Department to criminally investigate a woman who won a sexual assault lawsuit against him makes Watergate look like an unpaid parking ticket.
I was just wondering how long it will be before the next local by-elections wave 🌊 descend upon us.
How many councillors have the Greens lost since the May 2026 elections?
I'm going to have to start a new list, aren't I?
Lambeth: Second newly elected Green councillor resigns
The party still has the most members in the borough but is now only one ahead of Labour

Donald Trump does not know what Taiwan is, nor will he remember what it is four days from now.
Quite a few fellow Lib Dem candidates in West Surrey held their breaths for the very last ward to be bundle count and, fully recounted on 7 May. I did win, in the end, by 11 votes. I'm relieved and thankful I didn't disappoint my fabulous team mates and mentors. Heartfelt thank you.
Surrey Heath Lib Dems, under the West Surrey Council (unitary) won 11 of 12 seats. Very proud of them and looking forward to working in the new council.
