“The difference between propaganda and nonsense is your own ability to tell the difference”

Dying at the right-wing activists that (1) held a call with Todd Blanche in which Blanche made a lot of anti-abortion promises, (2) said "uh this is off the record" like doing so would magically ward off journalists, and then (3) UPLOADED IT TO THEIR YOUTUBE CHANNEL www.politico.com/news/2026/08...

The acting attorney general’s conversation with Trump appears to have taken place just hours after the president publicly mused about pulling Blanche’s nomination and instead trying to push through a fund that could be used to compensate Jan. 6 rioters and others who claim to have been persecuted by the Biden administration.
Announcements at the beginning and end of the Intercessors for America call stated that it was “not intended for press purposes.” A speaker told attendees that the call was “not on the record” and directed any journalists on the line to hang up.
POLITICO was not on the call on Thursday when it took place and did not agree to any limits on reporting. Audio of the session was posted on YouTube by Intercessors for America, which calls itself “the largest national prayer ministry dedicated to praying for our government and leaders.”
As of Monday, the recording remained publicly accessible.

I keep being told that things like "my commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters" is what antisemites sound like, and "Jews import immigrants to dilute the white population" is not. But I don't think that's right. If anything, it's backwards.

El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

If you're a cis person insisting that the prospect of trans children playing youth sports is not only "a problem" but in fact one of the biggest problems we currently face as a nation, I'd be happy to introduce you to literally a million other things that should be worrying you more.

One of the most brilliant aspects of The Boys is the depiction of Homelander as a soulless narcissist surrounded by A) sycophantic worshippers who believed his self-serving lies and B) cynical flatterers who pretended to believe his lies because they feared what he'd do to them.

Trump: “The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a 70, & am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, bc I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it”

Trump: “The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated. I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, because I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

Hey I know inflation is out of control and a lot of folks can’t afford basic necessities, but at least we’re tackling waste fraud and abuse by buying… *checks notes* 250 Escalades for the government.

Nope. No way. Causing mass death, breaking laws, corruption, and essentially executing a big cyber attack on the US is not the sort of thing one accidentally stumbles into. “Oops, I got carried away” is a reasonable reaction when you eat extra brownies that were saved for someone else. Not for this.
