Game dev | Furry | Bird watcher | 30s Dev of the Distorted Travesty series. https://distortedtravesty.blogspot.com/ One day I'll switch away from blogspot! Surely! No to AI!

Updated Game Maker from the 2022 LTS version I was still on to the 2026 LTS and... there were no issues. Not one, which is actually MORE worrisome, lol. But really though, good job to the @gamemaker.io team on their project conversion. It's a pretty big project that was updated too.

You can check out more info about the comic (and check out what else is debuting) on the SPX website now! www.smallpressexpo.com/debuts/ (My cover image on there is a slightly older version haha)

Pestimonials, my new comic, will debut at @smallpressexpo.bsky.social 2026! A 4-panel gag comic about the amazing, weird, and sometimes terrifying world of bugs! A spiritual successor to The Bug Pond with a new cast... but they can swear now I guess. (This one's for teens and adults) #SPX2026

The cover for the comic "PESTIMONIALS". A magnifying glass zooms in on a grassy clearing, showing four cartoon bugs ready to capture the viewer on camera with a camcorder, microphones, and a laptop!

A number of great discussions with artists at the #EFNW artist alley reminded me of some really cool emails I got about DT3 in particular. I'd like to mention two of them. The first was how DT3 inspired him and that one person created it. Granted DT3 is a fan/sprite rip game, but I understood.

Finally decided to play through the available chapters of Deltarune. I'd played the first 2 chapters on release when they were standalone. (Or at least Ch 1 was) My original thought was to wait for the full release, but I'm glad I decided against that.

There's an interesting and obvious thing about making a game as difficult as DT4, and that's testing it. I have a rule that I must be able to flawless (no hit) everything before I send anything to the testers. (1/3)

"Trans people will always exist." Cool. "They can't kill us all." Comforting. Yeah, transness will survive, but *I* want to survive, too, y'know? But also, survival and existence aren't enough for me anymore, and they shouldn't be enough for allies either. I want to see my trans friends thrive.

Now that we're half way through the year, I can talk about my most memorable games of 2025, because that's appropriate. This isn't a top games or GotY thing, but games that stuck with me. Clair Obscur, I mean... if you played it, then you might understand why this one is up there. (1/6)

Finished up 'People of Note' last night. That gets a big recommend from me. It was cool to see another game by Iridium and it felt like a game from them. I thought it was a turn-based rhythm game, and it kind of is, but it plays out a lot more like a classic jrpg, both in combat and the field.

Had a map with a cursed idea, but the execution of it wasn't feeling right. Decided to leave it for a bit because nothing was really working. Upon returning to the map and looking at it for a bit, I found the way to make it all work. The added benefit of also making it far far more cursed.
