I think this has to portend something. The Democratic establishment tried to bury El-Sayed. Twelve TIMES as much outside spending for Stevens says to me that the wealthy and the powerful tried to buy consensus instead of building it. This is one for the books, I think.

Chart showing outside spending for the August 4, 2026 Michigan Senate Democratic Primary election between Haley Stevens and Abdu El-Sayed. Stevens raised over $60 million to El-Sayed's less than $5 million.

I've been in Michigan for most of this primary campaign and let me tell you, it is hard to describe what 60 million in negative ads *feels* like... Just a rancid, putrid stench that permeates every corner of your media environment without relief 🥴 Now for the General. Condolences to my MI peeps 🫠

Peter's on the right beat here, but just to make it clear, what Clay wants is an elite HS boy's player to dunk on a pro WNBA player, which would happen, and even if the boys team loses (which they likely would!) all the miscreants would get the images they want

the best HS teams in the country have multiple guys who will be in the NBA in a couple of years. they aren't normal high schools, they're basketball factories. but this literally doesn't matter. the value of women's sports isn't contingent on their performance vis a vis men.

David Ellison isn’t wrong, per sé. You’re an untalented dope, David, but sure — no one trusts you to own another massive news organization after you burned CBS to the ground. Oh, and all of the jobs you’re inevitably going to cut certainly doesn’t help.

Days after a WNBA team co-ownwer was suspended for confronting anti-trans activists courtside, Cheryl Reeve of the Minnesota Lynx wore a "Trans Kids Belong" shirt while facing down Sophie Cunningham's team, the Fever. The Lynx won 108-100. Subscribe to support our journalism.

The crowd was equally indignant, reportedly booing whenever Cunningham touched the ball.

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Texas is a voluntary detention center: Judge Tim O'Hare is often referred to as the Tyrant of Tarrant County by locals. He's a leader in a local white replacement rooted hate group called True Texas Project (TTP).
