An actually underrated potential positive for Dems in light of Abdul’s victory is that it gives traditionally centrist or otherwise poor Dems on Palestine on an easy out for polarizing against AIPAC and pro-Israel politics— they’re trying to cost Dems the Senate.
Seems pretty awful, like A-block stuff, if POTUS was a Democrat.

the biggest presidential scandal in history. jeffrey epstein was a close friend and business associate of trump and they did crimes together! against children! its all pretty much out in the open now but its a smaller story than hillary's email server was for some reason

Yes, and the most frustrating thing is that Stevens is also a weak general election candidate, so we will actually learn the exact wrongest lesson if he loses.
Seth Masket@smotus.bsky.social · 15h agoNew at the Smotus Report: If El-Sayed wins in November, that will encourage progressive candidates in 2028, including presidential candidates. If he loses and Dems lose the Senate as a result, you will never hear the end of the I-told-you-sos.
The real primary victory is the parasocial relationships we've made along the way.

It's interesting, if not depressing, that "these people deserve to rot in prison and that's what will happen if I'm elected" is not a tact taken by almost any dem primary candidate.

There needs to be a PAC going at Rogers and tying him to Trump. El-Sayed's supporters need to persuade a lot of people who didn't vote for him, to vote for him.

Mike Lee is an incumbent Senator who is far more radical than El-Sayed in both deed and action so I'm not worried on that front. This is a really critical race in November and I hope he beats Rogers. He needs to, but I have two genuine concerns: Outside spending and El-Sayed's supporters.
I thought both of these candidates were pretty bad, but AES had a much better camera presence. I honestly sort of felt bad for how awkward Stevens came across most of the time. Tough to read too much into it, but I'd say that spending helped her other deficiencies quite a bit.

On the other hand, pointedly, he did still win while being absolutely massively outspent

Too many genuinely bad people, who have behaved rather badly and have big problems are absolutely drawn to conservative politics/culture. And Republican voters love them. And they love to tell you they don’t care about any of it.
