ok go off bret stephens?? “We become better writers by the constant effort that mundane writing demands. We become better thinkers by investing into that writing a degree of attention we’d never give it if we relinquished the task to A.I.”
"The link between broad-based literacy and the rise of democracy is well known:…What happens when the process goes into reverse? When people lack the patience to absorb arguments…[or] the ability to contradict those arguments because they’ve never honed..the most essential skill for clear thinking?"

Regardless of how it turns out NO HE DIDN’T. It’s like saying I have more fingers on my left hand after counting 8 digits from left to right with a ring finger and a pinky still to report.
Congratulations to @wewill2026.bsky.social for securing the Democratic nomination in #MI07! Standing against genocide is good policy and good politics!

This WSJ editorial unwittingly makes my point about the danger of Bernie's plan to turn all Americans into AI investors: "give public workers a direct stake in the success of AI and other companies. Maybe then government unions wouldn’t be as hostile to private business." www.wsj.com/opinion/publ...

It is pretty sad that so few people actually believe in open borders
This is especially true on the left or left liberal end where a lot of people have fried their own brains on a litany of bigotries in order to justify being for the idea of the border regime, something that is younger than modern liberalism or republicanism and arguably younger than Marxism.

Very excited for this new essay at "Can We Still Govern?": The key claim is that planning for a progressive future cannot just focus on new policies. It also has to include - to start with - political power. What does a power-shifting perspective look like? 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/rebuilding...
Exactly. The idea that you're not allowed to talk about the most money spent in a single congressional primary by a single organization in history, which breaks the previous record held by the same organization, just because some people cannot help themselves but be conspiratorial, is absurd.
I agree that the role of AIPAC in US politics is often overstated, in the same way that the NRA serves as a synecdoche for a broad-based collection of interests, but the thing about spending $30 million on an election is that people are going to assume you have some kind of stake in winning it.
With five days left and two polls showing him up by 10+ points, Abdul El Sayed has a new ad with AOC being pushed today
“If gender turns out to be an arbitrary, transcendable division, and not a permanent and natural one, then what remains of how we order and rank the human race?”
