They/Them๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ Neurodiverse Bookwyrm! Keeping an eye out to grow my hoard while working on my own stories!

I'm always amused by the way humans fetishize "walking upright," "tool use," and "language" as the iconic features of a superior species. And of course we ignore or downplay the obvious signs of all three in every other species. "They only walk upright SOMETIMES. Not like a true upright walker."

More fatphobic than anything Stephen King has actually written is the fact that every adaptation of Carrie refuses to let her be fat. Do you know how hard it is to be more fatphobic than King? But King's novel is a sympathetic story in which fatphobia is inextricable from the way Carrie is treated.

#JulyInterviewFic part 17 Erastos: "I've grown up with stories of merfolk. About them being divine, dangerous beings that will turn the whole ocean against you, if insulted or hurt. But then I've met my pearl. Nee is...nothing like that. Sweet. Curious. So...human. It has been eye opening."

#JulyInterviewFic. (Answer in character as your OC) Question 17. Describe a moment that challenged your worldview, and how you responded to it?

#SFFChat Q2 I have quite a few of these, but I think Felix Goode from A Harvest of the Heart is the best example of anxiety for me! Itโ€™s something he always has to deal with, and it often prevents him from doing what he wants to. Art by @dariakonnova.bsky.social

Over a dark forest:
The Witch of the Wood
- Novella
- MM Fantasy Romance
- Breaking a Curse
- A Spooky Forest
- A Search for a Witch
- Nervous x ConfidentThere was a witch hiding in the trees of Hatwick Wood. They were a steward of the wood, caring for the alders, maples, and cedar within, watching over the home of the beasts and birds. The witch ensured that villagers never took more than they gave, that they were never ravenous in their consumption of the gifts they were given. This was the witchโ€™s sacred duty, and their magic had flown wild and free as they upheld their oath.
The people who survived on the generosity of Hatwick Woodโ€”every denizen from Farbreak at the south edge to Northpost on the opposite sideโ€”respected the witch. Although they had never seen the steward of the wood, stories about the witch had been passed down through the families. Everyone knew the witch was the forest caretaker, and if anything ever went wrong, they needed to be found to mend it. No one knew this better than the Ashtons.
Milo Ashton came from a long line of people who made their living in the forest. His grandfather, and his grandfatherโ€™s grandfather, and every generation before that were hunters. It wasnโ€™t work that would make them rich, or elevate them above common folk, but it was good, honest work that would always be needed. The Ashtons had always hunted in Hatwick Wood, respected it, and in turn, the wood gave them a bounty.
That all changed when Hatwick Wood was cursed.A picture of a young man with tan skin and short dark hair wearing a green cloak and tan shirt. A bow is slung over his shoulder. He looks nervous. Next to him is a box that reads: Milo Ashton - A hunter tasked with breaking the curse on Hatwick Wood. Uncertain, nervous, but determined to do right.
A picture of a young man with shoulder-length dark-brown hair and brown skin wearing colorful clothes. He has a big smile on his face. Next to him is a box that reads: Cambium - An energetic young man who is living in Hatwick Wood. Unaffected by the curse that lingers in the forest. Outgoing, bold, but willing to help where he can.Over a forest, Vibes in Song Form

All of my books have disability rep, particularly PTSD. That, and the romance, is the whole focus of "One Bullet." In the Inquisition Trilogy, multiple characters struggle with various forms of PTSD, and one has lost an arm. #SpoonieAuthChat ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿช๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ“šโ™ฟ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ“šโ™ ๏ธ AuthorCaseyWolfe.carrd.co
