And yes, the repeated instruction from Mr. T to use the search engine is doing real work. It is not decoration. It is training-time and inference-time behavioral pressure against confident hallucination.

This has always been the case! It's always been reason and justice vs the entrenched class forces arrayed against the relentless pressure of history.
with the overton so far right, any rational thought is radically left
Everyone does cognitive offloading it came free with living in a society
Great argument. Now if we could just make the war on cars people understand this, that'd be great.
"We need to shut down data centers because Elon Musk can't be trusted to run one properly" makes as much sense as "We need to shut down auto manufacturing because Elon Musk can't be trusted to run one properly"
Here's the thing: if you read with any actual volume you run out of "good books" to read very very very quickly in the grand scheme of things so you can either lower your standards and read for fun or read less and feel superior about it, which makes zero sense but is insanely common.
The bit no one wants to say is that the average person has bad taste when it comes to writing. By definition, lowest common denominator is what is most popular, and that is what AI produces www.newscientist.com/article/2583...
"Brown mustard?!?!? Who does this guy think he is? Donald Trump?" — guys in the 80s
I may have to go with... "everything?" 1986... I was 14 years old. We couldn't afford cable, so we had like... 4 channels of TV. Your life was limited to what was available in a few square miles. "Grey Poupon" was considered exotic. Tacos were crisply. Airplane flights were a nightmare.
people are pointing out that this is obviously antisemitic, and it is, but one notes that this is sort of the natural endpoint of building your entire political identity around cultural criticism.

A really lovely paper, combining microscopy, modeling and manipulations to achieve a better understanding of root hair growth. thanks to the authors for the experiments & writeup!
🌱 Using live imaging & microfluidics, researchers mapped how root hairs grow in 3 stages, revealing crosstalk between cytoskeleton, nucleus & cell mechanics that drives polar growth in plants. 🔬 @theplantcell.bsky.social : doi.org/10.1093/plcell/koag165
the shirt rocks but also i love to see a WNBA coach stand. theyre elite standers
WNBA Coach Cheryl Reeve Wore “Trans Kids Belong” While Beating Sophie Cunningham’s Team • The crowd was equally indignant, reportedly booing whenever Cunningham touched the ball.

in insane local news, the 26 year old director of a rocky horror production was arrested for sending threatening messages to himself in order to get the play shut down bc he didn’t want to deal with cast drama www.mynbc5.com/article/rock...
Going to buy a big party speaker for the pool just so I don't have to listen to the asshole neighbors playing country music a mile away so loud I can hear it in my house when I'm out by the pool. Probably won't be able to drown it out.
I honestly don't know if that makes it more or less impressive
oh god i was avoiding this but the 300k loc of bash is too much to ignore
It build this neat little CLI that render streaming markdown in the terminal and we've got little tool fixtures. Ctrl+C does the same thing as cancel in normal ACP client in IDE.
The first crow-cli was also an ACP client in addition to being an ACP agent. I'm really leaning into the CLI client side of things since models are getting so reliable.
cop: did he send any texts around the time of the crash? cop 2: he sent a post that reads "padding my three track album with 26 skits and interludes" cop: not bad but it ain't going viral cop 2: posting isn't just about going viral cop: (sighs) not this shit again
normal person: "so... a loop harness with subagents?" steve yegge: I'll kill you
me: professionals are leveraging AI with care and rigor to produce better software than we ever could before steve yegge: I spend a $100k a month on compounding inscrutable hallucinations and I cover the costs by telling ai startups how to do the same

And it'll sit and rock and roll like that for hours. No special harness system. Plain Jane react loop with a stellar model and good compaction.
