It is 2006. I am 22. The US is mired in a costly Forever War. A predictable historic market collapse looms. I do not have health insurance. It is 2026. I am 42. The US is mired in a costly Forever War. A predictable historic market collapse looms. I do not have health insurance.

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.
Mike Lee's SCREEN Act, which heads to Senate Commerce Committee for markup on Wednesday, would expand age verification requirements to a nearly limitless scope of websites, and is supported by the architects of Project 2025.
Facts suck, if you're delusional and in a cult.
Republican Senators are voting to confirm Trump’s lawyer to be AG when it just came out that Capital One shut down Trump’s accounts under suspicion of money laundering and Trump wants exemption from being investigated for tax fraud. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS.
They’re just showing how much suffering they can squeeze out of people who already don’t have much left. And the worst part is they’re proud of it. The cruelty isn’t a side effect - it’s the whole damn point. Read here: prospect.org/2026/07/31/t...

My books will be on my shelves where they belong. A few friends used to laugh at me for keeping what they called obsolete things like vinyl records and old books. They all agree it was a good idea now.
This is it. Will they outnumber us or will we outnumber them? Teach your children well.
"I cannot believe this," said senior leadership of mega law firm that presumably was not in a coma during the first Trump administration
Trump “came up with a completely false quote saying I acknowledged things I never said. “My god." — Brad Karp, then the chairman of the law firm 2/2

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

As a voting citizen of the USA for over half a century, the most insane & disgusting thing to me about Americans is the fact that even though national elections can be won by a handful of votes, 70 to 80 million Americans don't bother to vote at all while complaining about how bad our government is.
Even games that get physical releases - the print runs will be smaller. How does that impact the ability to get a physical copy, especially from, say, a local store?
Seeing some people go "Wait, [Insert Game] is coming out before 2028, so why are people asking about it not getting a physical release?" And I think these people don't get that Sony's decision to end physical disc production isn't happening in a vacuum. This is a bigger shift that's been happening.
keep thinking about the evil of this. It's not just destroying the physical books, bad as that is. They are trying to remove the underpinnings of knowledge, destroy all the accumulated wisdom - and silliness, and creativity, and whatever else humans have thought worthy of writing down.
No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.
Texas: Sure, we’d vote for Satan— we have many times. We’re ignorant, bigoted, and fiercely self-destructive, but we make up for it by being the most corrupt state in the country.
