Dreaming up some hardware... #AetherStation

Lots of awesome OS for the PDS posts flying around today, but what about a PDS in the OS? Here's a peek at the native Linux rewrite of @aetheros.computer, built on NixOS with PDS backed user accounts and experimental support for spaces. Still WIP, but stay tuned for more info later this year...

I've got something big to announce. Today, I put in my two weeks notice at Hovercraft Studio, and on May 11, I'll be starting a new role as Senior Product Engineer on the Exploration Team at Bluesky.

Just a heads up, Substrate release has been delayed till this Friday. Thanks for your understanding! 🙏

Aether Camera now stores images to your PDS and has a social app called Pictogram. Hit me up if you'd like to help test it over the weekend. 📸

Big announcement. Everyone’s getting a Gameboy Camera 📸

Didn't expect to get nerd sniped by @iame.li after my flight, but #ATmosphereConf VOD is now live on the Aether OS @stream.place app. It supports search, filtering and clipping on desktop. Use it to download videos of your favorite moments or edit in the Splice app.

AtmosphereConf 2026 is a wrap! We hope all the remote attendees had a great Streamplace experience. When VODs, you ask? They're actually up right now! They're `place.stream.video` records in this repo. One catch: no frontend yet. That's where you come in. Welcome to the Streamplace VOD JAM.

Only 15 of these were made. Might come in handy in the future…

Shout out to @aetheros.computer for being showcased at this dang conference Every day I am so incredibly proud of my partner @montoulieu.dev for building worlds with love, but how incredible is it to see a huge room of humans cheering for my favorite human (Lowkey about to cry in the back here)

watch my talk today 😊 in the meantime @aetheros.computer has a clipping hack that losslessly remuxes the webrtc stream, pretty sick

System disks and stickers are available for free in the check-in area.

On our way to #ATmosphereConf

Booting up…
