The thing about companies nowadays I’ve come to accept is that a lot of them don’t care how their decisions will be received. They just expect a bit of backlash followed by infinite money forever because nothing will ever stop them from getting what they want

been trying to figure out what it is people want youth to Do with every activity and space being taken from them, internet starting to be walled off, but adults not liking them at home either and i think the unstated desire is "some kind of constantly running summer camp, but one we don't pay for"

It is absolutely true that Dems need to win swing voters to win elections. The misdiagnosis is that swing voters are “moderates.” They are not. They have almost entirely incoherent politics. You don’t win them from the middle. You appeal to your base with conviction and hope swings like the vibes.
Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social · 2mo agoThe theory that “electable” means “work to appease right-wing bigots under the assumption that majorities agree with them, at least partially, and they prioritize it when voting” has been tried. It has failed. Try something else.
Do some people use social media to get Free Fun Money via stuff like this? Yeah probably. But that doesn't change that it is an absolute hell world out there with crumbling economies and horrid conditions for everyone. Who gives a shit? If even just 1 out of 5 are "real", then they are Worth It
