I think it's reasonable for them to protect their business interests, & the construction of The Legacy behind the Michigan Theater definitely created a few issues that could have been prevented. We want more housing to make things better for everyone wherever possible.

The right price for curb parking is the lowest price needed to keep at least one or two spaces available on every block, most of the time. If you don't have the votes to charge everyone those prices, get the camel's nose under the tent by charging just visitors (who can't vote in your district).

Once you see how the right-wing playbook works, it's impossible to unsee it. This is just one giant intentional lie. It's well documented how this massive social panic was engineered from the right but they try to reframe it by blaming it on the very group that was just trying to quietly exist.

To avoid homelessness, college students should vote where they live nine months out of the year. If they don’t, they will be outvoted by faculty and alumni who moved to the college town, bought themselves a home, and then used exclusionary zoning to block the housing needed by the next generation.

Students should vote where they - or their parents - pay taxes. I use to ask Dartmouth students: "Who has a car?" Some hands go up. "Who registers their car in New Hampshire." The hands go down. "Vote where you registered your car."
