I didn't know Prospect magazine's Benjamin Clark would refer to racist harassment of me on X but he is free to do so. His Prospect piece reports it as my subjective perception - "for calling out what he sees as racist rhetoric on the site" to avoid a judgment call about the validity of my perception

Life in the UK shouldn't be a cycle of waiting for whether the far right have successfully fomented race riots near their most vulnerable neighbours and picking up the pieces from their aftermath. It's a cycle that can't easily be turned off, but it has to be named.

Have made it down to the antisemitism rally in London to see whether Reform uses the opportunity to politicise the real problem of racism against Jews. It hasn’t started yet. Mostly we had 2 musicians belting out Israeli classics, as if this were the best expression of British Jewishness… /1

A whole society response to antisemitism will wither if there isn't a whole society effort to make Jewish life about more than antisemitism, the Holocaust & Israel. If the worry is "how to stop Jews wanting to leave the UK", a hollow community is just as damaging as a community under fire.

An important note within the attacks against the Jewish community taking place right now, where grooming young people is seemingly a key part of their model. It shows that simply policing is not enough.

Jews have been standing against hate since Pharoah. Proud to be a part of this diverse community, city, and country.

This antisemitic arson attack is pressure on an already open wound. And because of how news spreads, this will reverberate across the diaspora, making many Jewish communities feel unsafe, unstable, and alone. The only way out of this is with our neighbours. Safety will come from community.

Video appears to show the moment ambulances belonging to a Jewish Ambulance Service in Golders Green were set alight in a suspected arson attack. It is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime. Police are appealing for information - nobody has yet been arrested.

I’m not entirely sure what the strategic value of killing a man (if they have) in his 80s, on poor health, who’s spent decades preaching about the value of martyrdom. Especially when you’ve said you want to do negotiations again in within 36 hours. But maybe expecting any kind of plan is elitist.

250 days ago, the Israeli and Iranian militaries were bombing one another. Today, they are doing so once again. The reasons will not change, the lessons will not be learned, and the civilians will keep paying the price.
