It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough

Re-upping this post because I have a question. Has anyone asked Director Beecher why DOE used DMV data that is renewed every 5 years instead of Permanent Fund data that is renewed each year? If so, can you provide a link to the answer, please. Thanks. #Alaska alaskabeacon.com/2026/07/23/a...

Alaska removes thousands from state’s active voter list, erroneously flagging some citizens | Alaska Beacon

DMV sent ‘old data’ to the Division of Elections, the Alaska's elections director said, but DMV says elections officials asked for it.

In addition to private companies wanting to build data centers up here, which is batshit (people here really need to talk to the folks who *lease* data center space, not just the ones who want to build), we've got the military wanting to build at Eielson and elsewhere. That's a different problem.

James Brooks did end up talking with Chris about her voter registration having been canceled in error by the state. I'm still unclear on why the notification letters arrived a month after they were dated, and after the registration deadline.

1/ Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins AI & data center policy announcement is fuzzy but seems like a good foundation for a more refined, granular set of policies, particularly around stuff like local control, no cost-shifting, and a moratorium on development until the legislature gets some regulations in place
