One thing I’ve noticed is that people who primarily tell others what to do are impressed by AI. The people who actually do the things are not impressed by AI. Gee, wonder why that might be.

It's better, even. Updating your Linux computer doesn't render your entire computer useless - you can use your computer while it updates. You don't have to reboot a bunch. ALL OF YOUR SOFTWARE AND YOUR OS IS UPDATED TOGETHER. I don't have to use crappy adware to use functions of some peripherals

why do people think you have to code to do anything on linux? nobody ever said that. what i said is linux *does* do the thing they use it for with less energy than windows does these days. it is simply the more functional tool for most normal computer functions now.

Look, I’m an open source maintainer, and if you want people to use that FOSS software as an alternative to that proprietary software it’s good to understand why people wanted to use that proprietary software in the first place and why they might be hesitant to switch It’s not because users are dumb

i've had people tell me that using unfamiliar software is traumatizing, that looking up computer problems you encounter to find solutions is literally impossible to do now that google sucks (it does suck, but you can still do basic troubleshooting cmon), and clicking "next" requires coding knowledge
