These people are letting you know that they’ve always cheated. Their eyes have always been on someone else’s paper. They alway bought essays. A subordinate has always done the work their name is slapped on, usually without credit. Chat is a cover for them.

I’m telling you this as a political scientist. The person who is electable is the one who is elected. This can and does change over time. Any and all speculation about “electability” is either puffery or anxiety and is often both.
