I can breathe just a teensy bit easier today. If they had ruled the other way, it’s not exaggerating to say that SSA would have been crushed by the increased workload that doing away with birthright citizenship would have caused. It really should not have been such a close decision but it’s a win ❤️

Trump can't deport everyone, but he is trying to hide those he can't deport out of the public eye. Today's "Receipts" from @crampell.bsky.social explains a recent DOJ memo which allows states to institutionalize people with disabilities, and what it means beyond what was published.
It'd be a scandal for a Cabinet secretary *without* a daughter with Down syndrome to say this, of course, but this really is fucking enraging.
Today's TPS decision is so fucking cruel because Haitians and Syrians followed all the rules that they were supposed to follow and now they're all of a sudden here "illegally" because a bunch of racists said so. I'm feeling so much fury on behalf of the many Haitians I know.
