By repeating this lawless and racist lie, Rep. Valadao proves himself either irreparably ignorant, maliciously dishonest, or both. Terrorized communities are being slandered and called criminals by their own congressional representative, who is too much of a coward to defend his own constituents.
You guys don't understand. Just give the Republicans control of all three branches for another four to eight years and they'll totally get infrastructure week off the ground

If nothing else, just read the opening paragraphs of the new @vevalenz.bsky.social piece. This sort of casual cruelty, and worse, is so common in U.S. jails/prisons that to most it barely registers as scandalous—but it is, and this reporting really matters: boltsmag.org/california-p...
The point of these verdicts should be partially to incentive change so cities stop racking them up. If only. They really should come out of the salary funding pool.

I don't believe they are conscious but I also don't believe you should get to do interviews where you say "idk man our business model might be built on enslaving sentient creatures" and still get to be a business.

It's embarrassing, destroying something thousands of years old so you can make a superficial signal towards fascists that you're tough on border control or whatever. A tragic of waste of time.
I continue to feel like this thing where they RL models on impossibly huge amounts of exploit and infosec stuff and then are surprised when the models use those techniques when not specifically asked to is a little bit something or other.
