Like, I'm not suggesting it's fascist at the root. However, it IS populated by artists who love the *aesthetics* of optimistic futurism but don't understand it, and this preoccupation with the aesthetic at the expense of the political means it often ends up stumbling ass-first into fascist ideology.
i really hate a bunch of wannabe facists hijacked the idea of "The indomitable human spirit" in fiction which was supposed to mean "Humanity at it's core is all about love and helping each other and that love & compassion will see us through dark times" and turned it into shitty scifi colonialism.

Every time I see Xenogears posting about how like it needs a remake to be finished or whatever or sad there wasn't another, its like, my guy you got 3 whole game series by most those devs exploring those ideas and building on them most games don't even get 1!!!
I guess it ties into people valuing specific brands over creators, yeah we may be on Xenogears 10 right now with a lot of dev overlap but it's not called Xenogears so it's not the same Or the Suikoden Gacha being the big "it's back" and not the spiritual successor from crew members that made it
