It's World Homeless Day, and I'll just say: Homelessness isn't some great unsolvable mystery. People are homeless because they don't have homes. This suffering persists not for lack of solutions, but because enormous wealth and power are invested in maintaining the very structures that produce it.

School boards are way under the radar in a big year like this, but the same battles you've heard about (book bans, Moms for Liberty, trans kids) are happening this year too. I identified 19 school boards where there battles like this — and what's up: boltsmag.org/whats-on-the...

I filmed this at Stadium-Armory Metro Station in Washington, DC this evening around 6:30 pm. He was minding his business waiting for the train, he wasn’t fighting them, but all of them piled onto him without giving him time to react to that many of them surrounding him.

i think this gets at the crux of it. It doesn't matter if they are actively preventing people from dropping ballots off, or if they're there by accident, or what--their presence could still be viewed as intimidating, and the solution is for them not to be *anywhere*

it might not even be explicit voter intimidation by design, right? it's just that there are national guard all over the city, so they're always standing around places they shouldn't be, which is every place. the solution is for them not to be there at all.

This is a big deal. DC fed judge says that DOJ's pursuit (and use) of the state voter files is unlawful, on a bunch of different grounds. And effectively confirms that for the 18 states that submitted files willingly, whoever collected the files at DOJ Civil Rights committed federal crimes.
