Bred in San Diego, led to Kansas City. Brand strategist, Arsenal, drummer, cyclist, malcontent and aspiring bon vivant.

We have similar in car-dependent Kansas City suburbs that encroach into former farmland ever further out from the urban core. Absolutely massive houses, always a big truck out front, that feel like giant financial and life traps, cannot fathom the appeal and you couldn't pay me to live in one.

Love drone footage of new builds in exurban Texas, gives me a very particular kind of dread to look at that is hard to replicate with other photos.

‘70s artists in particular were ridiculously prolific and fantastic (eg, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, AC/DC, Bowie, The Clash, etc). Two wild cards: The Cars (self-titled, Candy O, Panorama) and The Smiths (self-titled, Meat is Murder, The Queen Is Dead).

What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)

The president took on a vanity project, gave no-bid contracts to contractors who screwed it up, made up a story about vandals to cover it up, and then fomented a felony prosecution against an innocent scapegoat. You could impeach for anything he's done but "This asshole is out of control" is a layup

When you slow down and think about it you realize it's ten times worse than it seems. Sure it's farcical, but it's also a brutal legal attack on a man they knew to be innocent, done to distract from their own thievery and incompetence and as a flex to terrify anyone who might make them look bad.

Everywhere they look, Republicans see nothing but radical Marxist socialist communists. It’s like 1954 all over again. It’s Groundhog’s Day in the Republican Party. Fascinating look from @sethcotlar.bsky.social in @atrupar.com’s PN: www.publicnotice.co/p/seth-cotla...

"If you look at the 1956 GOP platform, it reads like a center-left policy platform in a contemporary context."

it’s never a great sign for your society when all the competent people who believe in doing a good job for the sake of it conclude that they’re actively being punished for these qualities, while malignantly stupid criminals are making bank
