I may be a simple country hyperchicken but I do think that once the autocomplete machine can produce a novel attack on seven round AES it's not helpful to call it an autocomplete machine anymore

There are a lot of ways to imagine Hell. The menswear guy criticising your clothes. Isaac Chotiner asking you an open ended but surprisingly specific question about your past. Emily Wilson reviewing your movie script. For me it’s a Kate McClymont story about the evidence I gave yesterday

City of London church sermons: a trader with access to Anthropic shares in the private market used leverage to invest ~his whole net worth ahead of the IPO - and how much more should we invest everything to get the treasure of heaven?

temporarily-being-abroad takes: there's a lot of cool stuff over here, but foreign stuff doesn't hit the same as *my* stuff seeing things here that are better and grander than their Australian equivalents, and realising I'm impressed but I don't feel the same *joy* as back home

I've found London buses over my few weeks here to be remarkably unreliable. Today it was a vehicle breakdown, which led to us being kicked off the bus, walking down to the next stop, and then a few minutes later the driver had the bus running again and decided to pick us all back up

so many things I've been thinking about, which I want to run past a small list of my closest friends and get their high-effort thoughts on, but I feel like I've already been infodumping too much on them recently. hmmmmm

In particular, I believe that there are company executives at Alibaba, Stability, Civitai, and xAI who get up in the morning and think to themselves “yeah today I’m going to profit by abetting sexual abuse, but it’s OK because libertarianism.”
