Today's jobs report is a reminder that tax cuts for corporations and the rich don’t create jobs or grow the economy. What's required is investment in working people — and better wages. When workers have money to spend, the economy grows and businesses create more jobs. Remember this.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Jane Yolen. In 2014 an email came to illustrate one of her books, cowritten w/ Rebecca Kai Dotlich. I was losing hope I’d ever break into illustrating picture books, so I cried happy tears. Thank you Jane for being a bright light and inspiration in the community.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?
