Very excited to launch CELLOGRAMRx a joint project between Australia 🇦🇺 (NHMRC) & Japan 🇯🇵 (AMED) teams to build a pan cancer atlas of oncofetal cells, understand population level differences and identify novel therapeutic targets by employing spatial omics & machine learning approaches!

Garvan researchers will lead a project to map 2,000 cancer samples, aiming to understand why treatments vary across patients and cancer types. This initiative involves one of the largest collaborative cancer studies between Australia and Japan. ow.ly/XPIF50UZTQe

It was great to visit IIT-Kanpur and Delhi University his week and interact with colleagues Amit Dutt, Hamim Zafar, Arun Shukla, Ananda, Santosh and others.. discussing common grounds between developmental biology and cancer.. also an opportunity to revisit old memories of undergrad days..

I’ll be speaking at DU south campus and talking about our recent work. Thank you Amit Dutt for kind invitation. This is an special for me as 20 years ago I did my first internship as undergraduate at DU Genetics dept which ignited my interest in genome biology 🧬

Scientists can be classified as either Foxes or Hedgehogs; borrowing Isaiah Berlin’s famous use of the saying that “a fox knows many things, but a hedgehog knows one big thing” Hedgehogs: Darwin, Monod, McClintock, Dawkins, Kimura.. Foxes: Wallace, Jacob, Brenner, Gould, Ohta..

The fate of T cells, such as seen in exhausted T cells, is tied to nutrients. This introduces the potential of therapies directed at keeping T cell identity and function intact. (And the infamous Krebs cycle makes a comeback to my brain) www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
