Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

I’m interested in any political imagination for accountability. It has to be proactive & retroactive. It has to be spectacular. And, ideally, it would leave so many of them broke that it actually becomes a deterrent. Being poor is truly all they care about not because they don’t care about prison.
the food safety stuff is another reminder that a large, huge, gigantic part of being a republican is going “lmao why are we spending money to prevent horrifying disasters from happening if they never happen 🤪”
Maybe they should just practice locking the door and turning off the lights and remaining silent while hiding under their desks…or is that just appropriate for kindergartners? 
Four years ago, Biden gave a speech warning about the dangers to democracy and the networks refused to air it because it was "political." I wonder if Trump making a partisan case for relitigating the 2020 election and calling for his political opponents to be jailed is going to be "political" too?

Lindsay Graham was, I think, one of the most contemptible figures in US politics, a titan of respectable bipartisan foreign policy for years who displayed no principles, no insight, and no beliefs beyond a gleeful and vicarious love of violence. An indictment of every institution he served in. RIP.
Gov. Beshear should demand proof of life. If his state has lost a senator, its people deserve to know and deserve a replacement. The seat doesn‘t belong to the Republican Party.
tomwellborn3rd@wellborn.net · 3mo agoRepublicans may be running out the clock on disclosing whether McConnell is even alive, purely so a filing deadline slides past and Thomas Massie can't grab the seat. A man's actual mortality reduced to a procedural loophole for gatekeeping power.
President Obama once delivered a speech in an open field for four hours during a thunderstorm while leaning against a very tall, pointy metal pole. President Trump should do the same, but for six hours, to demonstrate his strength.

The legal arguments for Trump's birthright citizenship executive order are vapid and embarrassing. Multiple lower court judges legit laughed DOJ lawyers out of the room. The fact that four Supreme Court justices twisted themselves into logical pretzels to buy it is a constitutional emergency.
The Constitution Is On Life Support
Four justices are prepared to stuff the Fourteenth Amendment’s promises in the garbage because Mister Trump demands it.
