As a mixed Asian, I wanna weight in a bit on the "Wasian" discourse happening right now-- if you're Wasian and taking advantage of your proximity to whiteness claiming that that's the only way to have Asian representation in predominantly white spaces, then you're perpetuating white supremacy.

Hardest but most valuable lesson I've learned to date: No matter how good I think I've become at teaching and no matter how much I've tried to improve my approach, there will always be students who don't, won't or just can't jibe with you. And that's okay.

Finally mustered up enough courage to read course evaluations. They're mostly sweet. The few "negatives" relate to how I structured the classes in a way that don't jive with these students' learning styles even though I revised my teaching in accordance with last semester's evaluations.
