The glue that can unite both wings is economics, Mamdanism even. But you have to be properly credible enough on immigration both legal and crossings, but of course won’t out bid Reform, but that credibility gets you a hearing then to do the economic/climate piece that unites your coalition.

I wrote a Substack on it too. “Heart of Europe” means something to pro-Europeans, because it’s *our* phrase. Starmer had better not be nicking our rejoin line in order to keep us outside the EU… …in doing so he’d be aggravating the very base he’s trying to appeal to in order to save himself.

The number of Germans prepared to vote AfD is certainly alarming, but clicking through to the polling data there doesn't seem much to support this "surge" narrative. INSA, for example, has AfD at 28% but was clocking them at 27% last December.

There was a general strike here last month. There’s genuine support for a change of regime here and all over Iran but you don’t get that with air strikes, all that brings is death.
