This is a long shot, but is anyone willing and able to review a micropublication (i.e., short and sweet) about how senescent-associated β-galactosidase accumulation influences the lifespan of a particular species (a fish, if it matters)? We can't find a reviewer and we've tried so hard. 🧪

New paper from the lab led by @ericmulhall.bsky.social addresses how PIEZO1 and PIEZO2 are tuned to different types mechanical forces. From nanometer-scale super-resolution microscopy to in vivo experiments, links single-molecule observations to physiological function. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

The molecular basis of force selectivity by PIEZO2

Nature - PIEZO2 is intrinsically more rigid than PIEZO1, and disparate mechanical stimuli paradoxically evoke opposite conformational and gating responses in each channel.

Our work now on its final version. We mapped the mechanical properties of roots at tissue and single cell levels using Brillouin microscopy and molecular rotors. Additional mutants and stress measurements from what we previously showed in the preprint are included. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

The mechanical properties of Arabidopsis thaliana roots adapt dynamically during development and to stress

Brillouin microscopy reveals in vivo dynamics of mechanical properties during plant development and response to stress.

This is a fascinating paper that reveals defined and clear mechanism for a phenomenon that for some seemed unbelievable- the up regulation of genes paralogous to those with specific types of inactivating mutations. This is called transcriptional adaptation 1/ www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Mechanisms linking cytoplasmic decay of translation-defective mRNA to transcriptional adaptation

Transcriptional adaptation (TA) is a genetic robustness mechanism through which mutant messenger RNA (mRNA) decay induces sequence-dependent up-regulation of so-called adapting genes. How cytoplasmica...
