In a new article with @richardfletcher.bsky.social and @rasmuskleis.bsky.social, we examine inequalities in news use in high-choice digital media environments. Drawing on ten years of survey data from six countries in Europe and the US, we compare offline and online news consumption patterns.🧵

New study with @camilambpp.bsky.social, @patyrossini.bsky.social & @lamprinirori.bsky.social on news avoidance in Greece and Brazil. We examine how different patterns of news avoidance relate to misinformation, trust and participation during elections.

Our new report on news influencers and creators is out. It contains: - 5 key findings (see link) - Top 15 most mentioned news influencers and creators by survey respondents in 24 countries - A typology of different content types (and examples of individuals that primarily produce each)

New article in Journal of Communication looking at changes to trust in news across 46 countries in the last 10 years. Trust in news declined in just over half of countries. It decreased more in countries where TV news use has declined, and/or where social media news use has grown. A thread:
