Sometimes writes code, not a coder. Sometimes plays games, not a gamer. Mostly harmless. She/her.

I keep criticising the nyt’s leaders bc their unprofessional and unprincipled coverage of trans ppl has directly led discrimination so sweeping that it has in turn given license to the violence we just saw in Louisiana. It nyt’s years-long record of anti-trans bias is despicable. The lowlights 🧵

This is the transphobic hatred that the nyt’s Sulzberger, Kahn, Carolyn Ryan and Patrick Healy legitimized. They knew exactly where there campaign of anti-trans propaganda would lead.

Let's talk about JK Rowling's 'bearded men'... I want to vent something that's been on my mind: The way transphobic groups and individuals are also actively homophobic. I've experienced it first hand, and know many others have too. 1/

The nyt hyped a *retracted* study on detransition in a 4500w story in ‘24, and never acknowledged its dishonesty It will ignore this study, just as it has ignored a long line of recent research proving the benefits of GAC. Sulzberger’s nyt is in the business of bias-driven propaganda. Not news

By Andrea González-Ramírez, a senior writer for The Cut who covers systems of power. Those physicals, Maria explains, are usually perfunctory: “Like, Are you walking normally? Are you lightheaded? I have never had to take any clothes off. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or violated.” If IL26-638 were to pass and Maria were still in school, she says she would likely drop out of her team. (We’re withholding Maria’s real name to protect her privacy.) “I honestly don’t know if I would be able to do these tests,” she adds. “It would also make me question, If I do it, are all my teammates going to too? Or would I just play with the three or four girls who are willing to or have access to do it?”

Yesterday, my cat Onion got outside while a junk hauler was taking a couple of large items. Not items with an opening he could have been in. He had to have darted. He's never been outside. Movers come tomorrow. We leave Monday. I've done all things (will list in a reply). #nolasky sad #caturday

the feds are coming in hard in Minneapolis today it looks like, targeting legal observers. I heard this from a friend there: "An alert was just posted to lock your doors and don’t open them for ICE/officials without a signed warrant. Twin Cities Legal observers’ homes are being raided... [cont'd]

NEW: Regulators have linked Mark McAfee’s raw dairy farm to more than a dozen recalls and outbreaks that left hundreds of people ill. “I’ve put a couple kids in the hospital,” McAfee said. “But here’s the thing: I’m a pioneer.”

He Profits Off Raw Milk That's Making People Sick. The Government Isn't Stopping Him.

With Raw Farm, the largest raw-milk dairy in the country, Mark McAfee has capitalized on a once-fringe product that's been thrust into the mainstream in recent years and backed by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Another "study" on trans people is currently recruiting via reddit ads. It's led by two of the most hated men in the community, Kenneth Zucker and J. Michael Bailey. Some of you may not know them, so I made a quick video showing why I don't trust them. Stay safe, friends. youtu.be/IpitYvyjqqs

I don't trust this trans "study". You shouldn't either

If he's going to get a national profile on the strength of a younger woman's campaign, I'm going to come out and say it: during his short-lived tenure as a math professor, Biss had an inappropriate romantic relationship with one of his undergraduate students. I was that student.
