It's a no-meat day so dinner was vegetarian tacos. Soymince, barley and kamut with tomatoes, onions, chillies, all the right spices, some of the wrong ones, thyme from the garden and a half teaspoon of Vegemite. That's a slow cooker recipe I'm holding on to.

Meatball needs a loving, caring home. He is a sweet, gentle boy who needs to be a permanent indoor cat, as he has FiV, which is a very manageable and uncomplicated chronic illness. We were grocery shopping when I spotted small boxes bearing a pic of Thomas the Tank Engine and the words "No Latex" Turns out they were band-aids.

Nothing wrong with frictionless, comforting escapism media where none of the bad stuff exists, if that's your jam or your need, but we all collectively really really REALLY have to get rid of the idea that media that deals with immoral subjects leave an immoral taint on all who engage with it.

Antisuicide plumbing is cool as a concept but kinda heck if you're flushing anything more than 3 squares of tp.

I just put dinner in the oven and skedaddled out the door as spouse came in, leaving instructions on when to check and turn it off, so I can attend a neighborhood not-quite-HOA meeting. Good grief, the adulting. Still catches me by surprise now and then.

Never forget that they had to spend trillions of dollars, build massive data centers, consume millions of galloons of water and insane amounts of electricity, just to kind of do what you can do better with your imagination and a cup of coffee. That's how envious they are of what you can do.
