what if i do not want to be optimized. what if i want to make mistakes because that’s how you learn; what if i want to do nothing sometimes, what if i want a world that is weird and challenging and has mysteries left to reveal. what if i like taking the long way

BOOKSHOP MAGIC; where you'll find the book you need. It’s always raining outside but cozy inside, your favourite armchair will be free, and the bookshop dog will curl up with you to read. Best of all; on your birthday you can read your favourite book for the first time again. #questpit #Q #P #RF #S

A magical-looking floorplan of a bookshop. The rooms are named (Pooh Corner, The Scriptorium, Gurgler, Yellow, Possibility, Exeunt Omnes, Taboo, The Fishbowl). The bookshop animals are in the margins: Willow the golden retriever, Spike and Angel the cats, and Drusilla the huntsman spider.

this is where your money goes when you buy harry potter stuff. rowling isn’t shy about it. amnesty wrote an even-handed report that laid out what anti-rights groups do; rowling uses her billions & clout to suppress it. when you give rowling money; she spends it on stealing people’s human rights.

jk rowling quotes an account called trans widows’ voices

rowling says:
Should any of the women's organisations targeted by @AmnestyUK's recent 'anti-rights' blacklist wish to take legal action, applications can be made to the JK Rowling Women's Fund.

trans widows’ voices says:

Whilst I understand the detriment to Beira's Place is real, and focussing on @jk_rowling get clicks it's a shame that mainstream press coverage of the Amnesty debacle is not also focussing on us smaller groups listed who do not have the same power or influence to defend ourselves

In my opinion, this is litigious thuggery. Amnesty spoke their truth and it hurt the feelings of the anti-trans brigade. TERFs destroy everything they touch. I mean, imagine suing Amnesty, of all organisations?

JK Rowling has used her wealth to stoke the fires of a worldwide pogrom against trans people to where she's silenced a Holocaust scholar after JK engaged in Holocaust denial & now done the same to Amnesty International for their warning about trans eradication, but keep buying your Harry Potter crap

a thousand monster / dinosaur / megafauna movies since Jurassic Park have tried and failed to replicate its magic, but the thing Jurassic Park understood is that we aren’t just hooked by the Big Toothy Creature, we’re hooked by the moment a crotchety old grump rediscovers his sense of wonder

I remember the first time I saw "Jurassic Park" and how weird it felt when Neill's character got all emotional at real dinosaurs. Earlier he was threatening to slit a kid's throat with a raptor claw. He was the Main Guy Hero. Those don't show emotions! But he did, and it got me Thinking (C). RIP.

I'm not seeing anyone speaking ill of Sam Neill, because he was a good man who harmed no one and brought joy to many RIP to a real one

lotta folks are going to get extremely & very uncreatively homophobic about lindsey graham being dead & i think it’s important to remember you can simply celebrate the fact a warmongering bigot is dead without being shitty. drink some champagne! go for a nice walk! fuck your loved ones about it!

i’ve never experienced a collective enthusiasm and fun like this month of the world cup. just consistently blown away how universal the enjoyment is and how deep people are plunging down the rabbit hole. doesn’t matter who i’m with or where i am everyone’s locked in and it rules

The fundamental test of birthright citizenship is this: if someone illegally trafficked people to this country and forced them into bondage and then those people had children, would those children have rights to object to continued servitude? If you answer isn't "yes, they have rights" you lose.
