New mainland print edition of Her Mountain, Her Sea (她的山她的海) by Fu Hua (扶华) now available for pre-order! With sprayed edges (I think three different versions?) and a double-sided standee (still not sure how one obtains this)

Two of the three libraries I have cards for switched from Onleihe 2 to 3 Which doesn't support the old tablet I read on I hope I can find a way to install it anyway, but I hate the prospect of possibly having to replace my perfectly functional eReader just because the libraries want a nicer app

Found the email I sent when I got accidentally added to the faculty listserv of an orthopedic surgery clinic and nobody would remove me so I sent this email to all faculty/staff/med students and they removed me almost immediately

Hello Bone Colleagues, I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans. -- [My name] Chief Bone Inventor Chair, Department of Foot and Leg Innovation Lord Mayor, Musculoskeletal Medicine Hartford HealthCare, The Bone & Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital.

Deepak Karra (deepak_karra on IG) captured this shot of a pink robin, native to the forests of South Australia & Tasmania. In technical terms, this is a bird shaped like an orb, or 'BORB'. 🐦🟣 Reminder that this little guy is a direct descendant of theropod dinosaurs like T. rex. (📷: Deepak Karra)

A poof of bright pink belly feathers that looks like one of those fuzzy pencil-toppers is surmounted by a dark grey head in which is a wary dark eye. It's gripping a pink flowering branch that changes from nearly vertical to actually vertical, requiring a sort of death grip by the legs.

'Ghosts' one of Paul Nash's illustrations for 'Hydriotaphia, Urne-Buriall, or, A Discourse of the Sepulchrall Urnes lately found in Norfolk' (1658). Its author, Thomas Browne, crafted many a funerary banger: "But man is a Noble Animal, splendid in ashes, and pompous in the grave" #SpookySunday

Have any of you read The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and thought that the best scene was undoubtedly when Wei Wuxian was inside the shell of the Xuanwu of Slaughter 🐢 and up to his waste in decomposing sludge? Well then! Have I got the book / movie for you! #Whalefall

I'm back to watching #LoveStoryInThe1970s and they continue to be so cute 😍 Also holy hell the factory director is really starting to make me angry. I don't even think she is malicious, but her way of using bureaucracy to keep stringing them along and moving the goalposts to favor her nepo babies
