I don’t know what to tell you, man. I’m a medieval historian, and, in my field, if you don’t check your sources (and your sources’ sources) you are just asking to be taken for a ride by some bored 19th C. aristocratic English antiquarian with a penchant for inventing history.
The irony is that I think Homer would be far more likely to be upset about people from northern europe (barbarians) being cast in the Odyssey than anything modern racists are upset about.
Episode 72 of the Into the Greenwood podcast will introduce our newest sub-series, "Side Targets". Side Targets will be film reviews for the movies and shows that fall outside of the purview of our normal "Splitting Arrows" series, but are still Robin Hood-related in one way or another. 🏹
