yall (writers, researchers, etc) are using zotero, right. open-source bibliography software that saves all your sources & notes? i realize i sound like an insta influencer but it's the only thing in my life that is even slightly organized. i still have my notes from grad school!!

screenshot of a bibliography. A book called "At Home with Empire: Metropolitan Culture..." is highlighted. Notes on the side talk about the duality of domestic/foreign, home/other, and the family metaphor in imperial Britain. Ch. 3: A homogenous society? Britain's internal 'others', Laura Tabili

Logan's raising money to be able to attend @viableparadise.bsky.social. This workshop changed my life, I'm not even joking, so I know what kind of impact it can have on a spec fic writer's confidence and career. Let's support them a/o signal boost! 🚀 gofund.me/c6ded66a9

Apropos of too many things lately, here's a spite poem I wrote a few weeks ago **makes unflinching eye contact while jamming more em dashes in** full disrespect to anyone writing with AI and also to the idea that we should change our voices and styles because the plagiarism machine is copying us

I will not cede my em dashes
I gathered them over countless afternoons in the languorous haze of foxing pages––breathing in the must of bygone times.

I unearthed them in a hundred many-branching conversations––no eye contact, just enthusiasm and did you know that rabbit trailing bliss.

I knelt at Emily Dickinson’s feet, and Emily Brontë’s, felt the press of punctuation against each shoulder––a knighting. A charge.

I will not cede them. I am oath-bound, sworn in fealty to complexity, to the broken, never-ending word. I must wield––.

I think I might have auto approval for Tanya Huff's new work on netgalley? What a world. 🤩 The comps, y'all The tongue-in-cheek tip of the title to Saved By the Bell The fact that it's focused on the teachers ahhh it's gonna be fun I can tell

OKAY! Inspired by @bzelkovich.bsky.social and my oft muttered resolution to read more short fic, I am embarking on a quest to read and post about 1 short story every day this month. #StoryADay I shall thread all of them here.

B. Zelkovich is peering out of their cave@bzelkovich.bsky.social · last mo.

Okay. I've decided. July will be my first attempt at #StoryADay since... The pandemic? Basically, I will try to read a short story each day in July, and share a little about it to boost authors and markets! There will be an official thread, so feel free to mute if it becomes tiresome.

It's been a minute since I've posted about HIGHER MAGIC, my debut fantasy novel. So, hey! It's disability pride and if you like magic academia, disability justice, stories with collective action, and/or snarky narration skulls have I got the book for you!
