Drawing cartoons and drinking coffee | Storyboard Artist on The Patrick Star Show | Admirer of bats, spiders, and all kinds of spooky creatures

It's Friday again! Here's week 4 of my animation class assignments. One left! The goal for this one is to animate a character laughing, crying, screaming using a few shots. 1 week, 10 seconds limit. Wanted to do something a bit more subtle, but also went a bit too long in the set up.

Hey Howdy Hey #PortfolioDay! Sharing my non NDA reel as currently doing some freelance 2D animation right now, but am always looking for future workopportunities! Previously At: Monkey Wrench, Horizonauts + MegaMonkey Studios Email paulgoguenart@gmail.com to connect!

Some Bugs Bunny Show pigs! I held off on these for awhile because the originals are so charming and strong in their shape language that it felt like sacrilege to fiddle with them… but it made for good practice! Which one’s your favorite?

A collection of Porky Pig drawings in his Bugs Bunny Show getup: a yellow suit and boater hat, a blue vest that matches with the trim on the hat, and a red bow tie. There are six different Porkys, each rendered in a different style: in pencil, painterly, vintage comic book, abstract textures, bold ink, and a collage of real-life fabrics.

As storyboard plussers on The Patrick Star Show, they gave us a good amount of wiggle room to take gags and come up with ways to take them as far as possible. Here's an example from "The Fun Bucket" where I took a moment where Pat opens a present almost TOO far during plussing!

a few plussed storypanels I drew for "The Show Must Go Yawn" while working on The Patrick Star Show. had a ton of fun pushing the roughs that Trey Chavez and Casey Alexander did before it got to our plussing team, and I couldn't resist making a gag that builds gradually as ridiculous as possible!

Today's the 26th anniversary of SpongeBob! I didn't have time to throw anything together this year, so here's a drawing from four years ago. Super thankful for what this show means to me!

An illustration of SpongeBob and friends in the early pitch bible style. I did not leave enough empty space around the border for the characters, so my apologies to anyone viewing this on their great grandma's tv, since Sandy and Mr. Krabs would totally be hidden.

Somebody informed me it is bat appreciation day, so um... Here's Scritch!! He's my rogue/thief lil guy with a good heart but a bit of a lost soul 🦇♥ I love playing him, he means so well...
