Solvable but requires a studio to not be frozen by analysis paralysis. 1) 20 episodes per greenlight. 2) Greenlight a new season based on gut belief in it, not based on waiting until numbers come in. This was TV for decades. Movies you can wait around for numbers, TV you can't. They're different.

A new report from Luminate has found that long gaps between seasons of streaming TV shows are leading to major losses in viewership. More than a 1 year gap is seen to largely cause a significant loss in viewership. (Source: luminatedata.com/reports/2026...)

Every time I see AI all I see is "stealing has been revolutionary. You can just steal, I steal, and I'm excited to steal from you! Wait, you don't? You haven't tried stealing yet? Oh buddy it's revolutionary!! You can just take shit!! I mean it'll collapse the economy but it's quick and cheap"

Like, the fundamental thing with "AI" - it all starts with a massive and ongoing act of theft (or infringement, if you like). It's a few billionaire, or trillionaire, owned tech companies stealing everything we ever did then selling it back as a worse version of the work we all do.

“Creative breakthroughs happen when visionary storytellers are given access to transformative tools”-- Actually, creative breakthroughs happen when people don't have to drink brown water from data center waste. This is not cool or accessible, this is disingenuous & disappointing.

Three AI animated series are heading to Prime Video streaming via Amazon MGM/AWS-backed GenAI Creators' Fund: 'Cupcake & Friends;' 'Love, Diana Music Hunters;' and 'Punky Duck' from Jorge Gutierrez.

I don't post my political opinions cause politics today is too exhausting and I don't want to add to it. That said, Go help black people. Go help trans people. Go help black trans people. Go help anyone who is currently a target for hate. That is all for now.

Glad this is being talked about. Too many great animated shows get tiny orders from execs scared of budgeting anything. There’s a reason the first seasons of Batman or DuckTales were 65 episodes: The people in charge of the money decided to commit to a volume of shows that would build an audience!

‘Regular Show’ creator J.G. Quintel says the entertainment industry feels so “truncated and short” now: “10 episodes, and then wait until it streams to see if it’s got numbers, and then we’ll call you back" (via @variety.com)
