‘We demonstrate that the cascading chain of precipitation–wetland inundation–vegetation succession–CH4 emissions drives emission seasonality, characterized by a 3-month lag from precipitation to wetland inundation and a subsequent 4-month lag from inundation to peak emissions.’

”The northward migration could make the AMOC more resilient to warming, although the Arctic areas in which these cold, salty waters can form is not infinite, he says. “How long can the compensation last? That’s the natural question to ask.” www.science.org/content/arti...

Tropomi SO2 reports 24/7 on volcanic SO2 plumes. As a global detection system for large SO2 releases Tropomi SO2 is very useful in times of growng numbers of companies dreaming about earnings from cooling credits by (illegally) injecting SO2 into the stratosphere. It is seen, here at Bluesky, 24/7.

On 2026-06-01 #TROPOMI has detected an enhanced SO2 signal of 129.18DU at a distance of 2.6km to #Kilauea at an altitude of ~2.3km. Other nearby sources: #MaunaLoa. #DLR_inpuls #S5p #Sentinel5p #TROPOMI #SO2LH

Important near-real time SO2 monitoring for volcanoes AND any illegal SO2 injections that could get organized by (non-)state actors without international governance in place. Difficult to predict the future of stratospheric aerosol injection. These monitoring tools are a good idea anyway.

Most of the criticisms of Bluesky flying around out there don’t sound familiar to me at all. But I do wish it was growing more, because the conversation here is excellent and important, and I’d hope for it to be educating, influencing and engaging with as many people as possible. @bsky.app
