I'm just more puzzled on the Fortnite side of things, like - who there was like "Yeah, sure, the woman from Obsession. That's an IP that makes sense in our shooty game - that's worth spending money for the license and will get us cash back."
Look, this is extremely stupid, but I also can't pretend that I honestly....care? At all? Obsession remains a fantastic film. This is just other companies capitalizing on that. Fortnite doing this is no worse than Space Jam 2 having the nuns from The Devils in it.

I really don’t think people understand what R* is like to work for. There’s no “field” it’s a black box you exist in. There’s no games industry or meeting people from it. It’s just you & the other people who work at R*. You don’t realize but they’re pitted against each other constantly.

a cool thing about indie animation is that it's expected to save the entire industry, every show has to look better than the things the fans grew up on or it's a waste of time, there's no union to be found anywhere, no budget for any of it, and asking the audience to pay anything to watch is illegal
I finished Silent Hill Townfall, beautiful game and captivating narrative, I think I just really dislike hiding in closet horror stealth personally. The parts of the game I liked most had no closets. Maybe its a generational thing idk. do the children love closets
This isn’t even a “haha digital circus fandom bad” thing. In my opinion ALL fandoms are bad because the internet, by design, enables all sorts of zealotry and narcissism. “Fame” affords me a lot; more than most people can say. But also I need to maintain a healthy distance from it.
Every time I consider quitting I see some phenomenal passion and fanart for my webcomic and I tear up and am excited to keep going
