Morning Song

The classic Morning Song you all know and love, only slightly worse than before. She/Her

It just hit me, I'm nearing the halfway point of this story based on my planned outline, and it's almost certainly going to be NaNo-length. (It's taken more than a month already to get here but it's still kind of my benchmark for "this is a textual work of significant breadth")

"why does the UK change leaders so often?" there are diminishing returns wrt how long each vessel can house thatcher's spirit. by the end of the century we'll be getting through 1000 prime ministers a day

Really disappointed that it turns out the program I was using for editing LaTeX (TeXstudio) recently pivoted to LLM slop. Thankfully the 4.2.3 version that came with Debian Bookworm didn't have the slop AND doesn't have the weird spellchecker bug that makes it unable to handle contractions.

So I have done absolutely no research to correlate this but one of the little things I've started considering as a recession indicator is big websites doing adblocker crackdowns. (Fandom and Youtube in recent months in this case. Back in 2020 it was Twitch)

I'm the sort of nerd who will use git to undo the commit that removed oscar protocol support just to build AIM support for modern pidgin so i can use nina.chat on linux. Now I just need friends who also use it so it's not just sitting there occasionally receiving system messages

My mildly unconventional choice for "person I would go back in time and kill as a child" would probably be Edward Teller, who's responsible for innumerable escalations of the nuclear arms race in the 20th century, as well as stopping a program that might have led to total nuclear disarmament.

What a lot of people and commentary miss is that the main impact of this diagnosis is that it destroys his whole supplement/dietary grift. His main source of income is a webstore selling bullshit to people to "help them live longer". Now who is going to buy his blood testing kits?

good news, everybody! that pre-immortal ceo who was harvesting his son's lifeforce is crashing out and comparing himself to "Gilgamesh, Asclepius, and Jesus"

The world wants me to die. My incurable disease diagnosis became global news. It was omnipresent on social media and 1,900 articles were written in a matter of days. Many were saddened. However, joy dominated the commentary.
[so many words later...]
I deserved it because I challenged death. The crowd was running a deeply rooted psychological script that represents the oldest, most deeply embedded stories of human culture. This was the first story ever written down, 4,000 years ago. Gilgamesh sought eternal life after losing someone he loved, only to have the plant of youth stolen by a serpent as he bathed. Leaving him to accept his mortality.
[even more words later.]
For if death is inevitable, their existence and that of their loved ones is justified and unavoidable. If death is not inevitable, nothing about their reality is safe. I occupy the same philosophical and archetypal position as Gilgamesh, Asclepius and Jesus.

Head's up peeps, there's a translation out for an obscure Dreamcast RPG, Tricolore Crise, that first popped up four days ago with a first release and then a 'completion' release last night. It's LLM translated using an AI-friendly workflow tool also being developed for wider use. (1/3)

I was brave enough to post the first bits of my thing to AO3! I am not brave enough to link it here because then everyone would know my embarrassing kinks.

I spoke to Mitch McConnell today on either side, a tusk, as in a boar, Caused him to feel how one of them could rip. Among malicious cats the mouse had come; But Barbariccia clasped him in his arms, And said: "Stand ye aside, while I enfork him."

What if next to the AI disclosure Steam required a realtime counter of how many of the people who worked on the game are still employed (something something or receiving royalties something)
