Myst is completely irrelevant. I loved it at the time, but at no point since its initial release has it attracted new players. It's aging boomers who have the nostalgia for a new chapter, and they aren't usually crowd funding shit.

The internet was my only haven growing up. I had unrestricted access and I saw things that were troubling, terrifying even, but I got to process those and become an adult who does not shelter in ignorance. If not for that access, i might still be in the cult and never know myself

It's fascinating how cities and police depts are realizing Flock license plate readers are a problem in a myriad of ways, and instead of spending any time considering the risks of the tech, they jump to switching to another vendor of *the same technology* as if that will somehow solve the problem.

Had a doctor's appointment about a chronic condition that should be curable but hasn't been. Dude at least took it more seriously than they have in the past. Getting some testing that's actually relevant to possible diagnoses, and not just "you look fat, how about we do a bunch of diabetes tests".
